Halo® is a fractionated hybrid laser treatment that uses 1470 nm non-ablative and 2940 nm ablative wavelength. Sction Halo creates controlled coagulation zones in the dermis to stimulate neocollagenesis (new collagen). It also vaporizes (ablates) epidermal tissue channels to resurface the skin. It can address fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, dyschromia, scars, pigmented lesions, and enlarged pores. Expected downtime is 5-10 days. Laser consultation with our advanced esthetician is required.
FAQs
Halo treats all skin types I-VI anywhere on the body. Common treatment areas are the face, neck, chest, and hands.
The ablative wavelength targets and treats skin conditions at the surface, such as pore size and textural issues. In contrast, the non-ablative wavelength targets more severe sun damage and pigmentation problems.
Expected downtime is 5-10 days. Typical side effects include redness, warmth, and swelling. Microscopic epidermal necrotic debris (MENDs) will appear as tiny dark spots on days 2-3 and fall off naturally over 5-14 days.
Most patients find a Halo treatment very tolerable. We use a prescription-grade topical anesthetic before treatment. In addition, a Zimmer chiller keeps the skin cool during treatment, which can reduce discomfort. Post-treatment, we will apply a cooling mask.
Due to its fractionated nature, most patients require 1-2 Halo treatments to achieve their goals. Maintaining your results requires a maintenance treatment once per year.
